Oxnard – Fulltime
The Project Manager holds overall management responsibility for all aspects of fire protection construction projects. He/She will oversee or conduct scheduling, planning, expediting, inspection, quality control, and total delivery of the project according to established criteria. He/She is responsible for tracking, forecasting, and communicating all costs, profits, and financial measures of the project.
Oversee installation of overhead wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems, dry-pipe and pre-action systems, underground fire lines and all related apparatuses and new systems, retro-fits, Tennant Improvements, and Residential Dwellings
Report to owner and general contractor about progress and necessary modifications.
Maintain customer rapport by resolving concerns; answering questions
Use of analytical thinking and problem solving to determine construction feasibility and possibilities
Assist the Superintendent in preparing and updating the project’s master schedule.
Inform all trade contractors and home office on the status of the master schedule and provide a two-week look ahead of future work.
Supervise any laborers and work with the Assistant Superintendent to accomplish daily task.
Forecast future manpower requirements
Identify change orders that will impact cost, schedule or labor requirements
Ensure work complies with codes and permits
Ability to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with subs and generals
5-8 years of experience in Fire Protection Construction in supervisory role
Construction Management degree or applicable other degree from a technical school or college or equal experience is a plus.
Language Skills – Ability to read, write, interpret and analyze business publications, technical procedures and government regulations.
Ability to effectively present to groups of people including employees, vendors, and the general public.
Ability to write and interpret reports, correspondence, and manuals.
Math Skills – Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and to apply concepts of algebra
Reasoning Skills – Ability to solve problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only general guidelines exist. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills – Intermediate experience with MS Office and windows 10.
Possess excellent communication skills-written and verbal
Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test
Ability to coordinate and work well with others
