The Project Manager holds overall management responsibility for all aspects of fire protection construction projects. He/She will oversee or conduct scheduling, planning, expediting, inspection, quality control, and total delivery of the project according to established criteria. He/She is responsible for tracking, forecasting, and communicating all costs, profits, and financial measures of the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee installation of overhead wet-pipe fire sprinkler systems, dry-pipe and pre-action systems, underground fire lines and all related apparatuses and new systems, retro-fits, Tennant Improvements, and Residential Dwellings

  • Report to owner and general contractor about progress and necessary modifications.

  • Maintain customer rapport by resolving concerns; answering questions

  • Use of analytical thinking and problem solving to determine construction feasibility and possibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent in preparing and updating the project’s master schedule.

  • Inform all trade contractors and home office on the status of the master schedule and provide a two-week look ahead of future work.

  • Supervise any laborers and work with the Assistant Superintendent to accomplish daily task.

  • Forecast future manpower requirements

  • Identify change orders that will impact cost, schedule or labor requirements

  • Ensure work complies with codes and permits

  • Ability to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with subs and generals

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-8 years of experience in Fire Protection Construction in supervisory role

  • Construction Management degree or applicable other degree from a technical school or college or equal experience is a plus.

  • Language Skills – Ability to read, write, interpret and analyze business publications, technical procedures and government regulations.

  • Ability to effectively present to groups of people including employees, vendors, and the general public.

  • Ability to write and interpret reports, correspondence, and manuals.

  • Math Skills – Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and to apply concepts of algebra

  • Reasoning Skills – Ability to solve problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only general guidelines exist. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Computer Skills – Intermediate experience with MS Office and windows 10.

  • Possess excellent communication skills-written and verbal

  • Willing to pass a pre-employment drug test

  • Ability to coordinate and work well with others
