Database Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide Database Administrative Support for UDB\DB2 Server databases for the  Dept of Human Services
Provide database optimization and tuning services for UDB\DB2 Server databases
Support development and maintenance requirements of applications that support core business processes.
Support and enforce standards that reflect best business practices for databases
Provide backup and restoration support ofdatabases

Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Experience writing effective database specifications.
Basic skills in database administration in UDB\DB2.
Basic skills in database performance tuning through monitoring database environment or tuning system resources, queries, indexes, and other database objects.
Ability to communicate effectively with a multiple audiences.
Working knowledge of operating systems such as Unix or AIX.
Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks under a full workload and tight deadlines.
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Data Conversion experience
Basic skills in database administration in Microsoft SQL Server, UNIX, or Oracle
Experience in SSIS, SSAS, and/or SSRS
Working knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix, Linux, AIX
Basic Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Comp Sci, Info Mgt, or related field and 3 years IT experience with UDB\DB2 Server
Or MS degree in Comp Sci, Info Mgt, or related field with 1 year UDB\DB2 Server IT experience will be accepted in lieu of BS with 3 years experience.
Or 6 years UDB\DB2 Server IT experience will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree in Comp Sci, Info Mgt, or related field Preferred Qualifications.

Preferred:
Certified database administrator in Microsoft SQL Server, UDB\DB2, or Oracle
